INGETEAM POWER TECHNOLOGY
Ingeteam is a company specialising in power and control electronics (inverters, frequency converters, controllers and protections), generators, motors and pumps, electrical engineering and automation projects. The company completes its offer with operation & maintenance services.
Ingeteam develops its products in the following key sectors: wind, PV, hydro and fossil fuel power generation; metal processing industry; marine; rail traction; power grid, including substations, always seeking to optimise energy consumption and to maximise generating efficiency, also covering energy transport and distribution.
The company operates throughout the world, employing 3,800 persons. R&D is the backbone of Ingeteam's business activity, in which 5% of the company's turnover is invested annually.
Between other activities, Ingeteam has a complete range of INGEREV® charging stations for the e-vehicles of today and tomorrow. With more than 45 years' experience in the power electronics sector and 3 decades in renewable energies, INGETEAM has used its expertise to design the INGEREV® range of e-vehicle charging stations, available in AC and DC. This range supports all types of charging powers and installation types, from rapid charging points to opportunity charging on a public road, including charging at leisure centers and shopping centers, the workplace, hotels, car parks and fleets.
Furthermore, INGECON SUN EMS Board is Ingeteam's solution to allow for increased self-consumption, by matching energy production and consumption. Thanks to this equipment, self-consumption ratios of 100% have been achieved in real installations with Ingeteam's technology. This, also acts as a communication central, constantly exchanging information with the power converters and with the power meter via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or RS-485, in order to control the amount of energy exchanged with the public grid. It is now available at the Downloads section the software INGECON SUN EMS Tools to configure and monitor any self-consumption installation.
Role in the project
Ingeteam, as industrial partner, will provide both theoretical lectures and practical internships.
On one hand, and based on experience, Ingeteam will be responsible of teaching: i) the fundamentals of electrical vehicles charging and smart energy management, and ii) the fabrication, installation and operation of industrial related devices.
On the other, Ingeteam will put at student’s disposal its industrial facilities where they will be able to apply the theoretical knowledge by working hands-on with commercialized state-of-the-art systems for electrical vehicles charging developed by Ingeteam.
